{"id":1389,"date":"2020-02-19T09:23:07","date_gmt":"2020-02-19T05:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ohrc.om\/english\/?p=1389"},"modified":"2026-05-25T18:13:56","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T07:13:56","slug":"social-media-conference-in-doha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ohrc.om\/en\/social-media-conference-in-doha\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Media Conference in Doha"},"content":{"rendered":"OHRC participated in an international conference on social media held under the theme \u201cChallenges and Ways to Support Freedoms and Protect Activists,\u201d The conference hosted by Qatar\u2019s National Committee for Human Rights on February 16, 17, 2020, saw the participation of more than 300 international organizations and universities, think tank, \u00a0in addition to a strong and qualitative participation of journalists&#8217; unions from around the world and representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, United Nations agencies, international organizations and social media networks and UN special rapporteurs.\n\nThe National Committee for Human Rights organized the conference in coordination with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the European Parliament, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI).
