\r\n\r\nThe Oman Human Rights Commission will celebrate International Human Rights Day on the morning of Wednesday, 10 December 2025, through its annual event held under the theme \u201cThe Rights of Persons with Disabilities: National Efforts and Sustainable Achievements.\u201d The celebration will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the main hall of the W Muscat Hotel \u2013 Al Qurum, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Kamil bin Fahd Al Said, Secretary-General at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.\r\n

\r\nThis annual occasion reflects the Commission\u2019s ongoing commitment to commemorating 10 December, the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as a moment to reaffirm shared human values grounded in dignity, equality, and non-discrimination. This year\u2019s observance places special focus on the rights of persons with disabilities, highlighting national achievements that have played a meaningful role in advancing justice and equal opportunities across society.The event is expected to bring together representatives from more than 55 entities, including government institutions, private-sector organizations, and civil society partners. This broad participation underscores the growing national partnership dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities and promoting their full inclusion in all areas of life, in line with modern, rights-based approaches that move beyond traditional welfare perspectives.\r\n

\r\nAs part of the celebration, the Commission will announce a number of leading national initiatives in the field of employment, training, and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities for the year 2025. These initiatives reflect collective efforts to strengthen access to work, education, and vocational opportunities, while expanding pathways for inclusion in the labour market. The honored initiatives highlight inspiring institutional models that have translated empowerment into real and lasting impact by creating more inclusive work environments, offering tailored training aligned with market needs, and developing rehabilitation pathways that support economic independence and active community participation. \r\nThe program will feature a variety of segments conveying the national and human-rights message related to persons with disabilities. These include an introductory film on the Oman Human Rights Commission, a dedicated thematic film entitled \u201cNational Efforts and Sustainable Achievements,\u201d a motion-graphics presentation showcasing the Commission\u2019s work in monitoring and addressing disability-related cases, a musical performance by students with hearing disabilities, and five short films highlighting pioneering initiatives serving this group. The event will also mark the graduation of the first cohort of certified human rights trainers, a milestone in building national human rights capacity.\r\n
