It also checked the safety and suitability of food and seafood products for consumption and verified that residents\u2019 daily lives were continuing without any direct health or environmental disruption.\r\n\r\nThe OHRC delegation also observed firsthand the sustained efforts of the relevant government authorities and institutions, including their prompt response to contain the spill, clean the beaches and protect the marine environment from potential harm.\r\n\r\nThe visit forms part of OHRC\u2019s mandate to monitor matters affecting human rights, public health and safety, and the environment.
