Delegation of the Oman Human Rights Commission Participates in the 56th Session of the Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights at the League of Arab States in Cairo
A delegation from the Oman Human Rights Commission, headed by Mr. Saud bin Saleh Al-Maawali, Vice-Chairperson of the Commission, participated in the 56th session of the Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights held in Cairo. The regular session, convened at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, discussed a number of agenda items, including the adoption of the recommendations of the 55th session, the issue of confronting Israeli violations and racist practices in the occupied Arab territories, and the situation of Arab prisoners and detainees in Israeli prisons, along with other topics related to Israeli violations. The session also reviewed the working strategy of the Arab Charter on Human Rights Committee and approved the theme for the Arab Human Rights Day 2026, which is celebrated annually on March 16. The delegation included Counselor Jamal bin Salim Al-Nabhani, member of the Commission, and Mr. Saeed bin Saleh Al-Abri, Director of the Department of Communication and Media at the Commission.
