National Human Right Commission (NHRC) continues to follow up the case of the Omani citizen Muawiya Al Rawahi who is being detained by the authorities of the United Arab Emirates since last February. NHRC contacted several officials in the Sultanate who confirmed their relentless efforts in relation to this case. The Commission also contacted the International Amnesty who published the case on their website on 20 March 2015, as well as the Emirates Human Rights Association to assist them with the case of Mr. Al Rawahi, however, no information was provided by the association. NHRC hopes that the Emirati authorities take into consideration the health aspects of the mentioned detainee and provide all legal guarantees stipulated in the international laws and charters.
