Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni OHRC Chairman met with His Excellency Bimal Prasad Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Nepalese House of Representatives, and his accompanying delegation, who paid an official visit to the Sultanate, during which he met with a number of officials.
During the meeting, Sheikh Chairman of OHRC gave a brief overview of OHRC, its mandates, the mechanism it follows in monitoring and receiving reports, its efforts in the field of human rights awareness and education, and its relationship with regional and international organizations concerned with human rights. For his part, the Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives of Nepal expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by OHRC in all matters related to serving human rights. He looked forward to more cooperation between OHRC and its counterpart in the Republic of Nepal during the next stage.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sulaiman bin Hamad Al Alawi, Vice Chairman of OHRC, Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al Kalbani, Secretary General to OHRC, Suleiman bin Abdullah Al Wahaibi, member of OHRC, and lawyer Maymouna bint Said Al Sulaymaniyah, member of OHRC, in addition to a number of concerned employees at OHRC.
