Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni, OHRC Chairman, met in his office with Her Excellency Laetitia van Asch, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Sultanate.
During the meeting, the OHRC Chairman spoke about the mandates of OHRC, its work mechanism, its role in monitoring and receiving human rights communications in the Sultanate, its follow-up to international reports, and its efforts in the field of human rights awareness and education in cooperation and coordination with various authorities within the Sultanate. He also touched on OHRC’s relations with relevant regional and international human rights organizations.
For her part, the Ambassador expressed her happiness with the existing cooperation between OHRC and the Dutch Embassy and sharing of programs and experiences related to human rights between the two sides during her term in the Sultanate. She expressed her aspirations for more cooperation in the coming period.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Suleiman bin Hamad Al-Alawi, Vice Chairman of OHRC, Nasser bin Muhammad Al Kindi, international organizations specialist, and Eman bint Khaled Al-Saidi, international relations specialist at OHRC.
