Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni OHRC Chairman met at OHRC headquarters with His Excellency Karl Kulessa, Representative of the United Nations Fund for Population (UNFPA) in the GCC Countries, residing in the Sultanate.
At the beginning of the meeting, the OHRC Chairman welcomed the representative of the United Nations Population Fund to the Gulf Cooperation Council, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by the United Nations Population Fund, and the readiness of OHRC to cooperate in areas related to human rights. He also explained some of the efforts carried out by OHRC to protect and promote human rights in the Sultanate.
For his part, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund explained the roles played by the Fund in various countries of the world in the areas of population, development, health, reproductive rights, sustainable development, and gender equality. He also expressed his aspiration to enhance cooperation and coordination with OHRC in this field.
The meeting was attended by Shatha bint Abdul Majeed Al Zadjali, Director of the Organizations and International Relations Department, Nasser bin Mohammad Al Kindi, a Specialist in International Organizations, and Salem bin Khalfan Al Roshdi, Head of the Awareness and Education Department.
