A delegation from Oman Human Rights Commission, led by Professor Rashid bin Hamad Al Balushi, Chairman of the Commission, visited the detention center under the Royal Oman Police Command in Al Dhahirah Governorate. The visit was part of the Commission’s mandate to monitor and assess the conditions and services provided to inmates and detainees.
The delegation was received by Colonel Ali bin Hassan Al Balushi, Director General of Prisons, and Lieutenant Colonel Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Ghafri from the Royal Oman Police Command in Al Dhahirah, along with several officers. The delegation toured the facility, examining the various sections and the services provided to the detainees.
The visit is part of the Commission’s role in monitoring and assessing the conditions of human rights through field visits to prisons and detention centers.
