The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) holds its second Meeting of the Second Period

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) held its second meeting of the first annual meeting of the second period at NHRC headquarters on 22 July 2013. The meeting was headed by the honorable Mohammed Abdullah al-Riyami, NHRC Chairman. NHRC Chairman welcomed the members, and the General Secretary, appreciated the role of the commission to promote human rights and discussed several activities that have been undertaken by NHRC during the previous period including NHRC participation in summer’s program” Work and Leadership” which was organized by the Ministry of Education. In addition the Chairman discussed the NHRC first awareness presentation about child rights at the Omani Women’s Associations in Sohar, al-Burimi and Khasab. During the meeting, they discussed the international and local participations of the commission. The participations included Khareef Salalah Festival 2013, the activities of Oman Scouts and Guides , the 16 International Meeting which was held on September 2013 aiming at exchange cultures and explore civilizations , and the event of “Ataa wa Erteqaa” which was organized by the Omani Lawyers Association in August .
