Chaired by Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al-Balushi, the OHRC Chairman, the OHRC convened its second meeting of the inaugural session of the fifth term. The session was attended by the OHRC members and the Secretary of the Technical Secretariat.
The meeting entailed a review of draft memorandums of cooperation intended for signing between the OHRC, the General Federation of Workers of the Sultanate of Oman, and several civil society institutions. Additionally, discussions encompassed a report detailing communications and complaints received by the OHRC in the preceding period, alongside key measures undertaken to address or resolve them in collaboration and coordination with relevant authorities.
Furthermore, the meeting included a review of the fundamental human rights conventions ratified by the Sultanate of Oman, along with reports submitted to international entities. Additionally, discussions encompassed topics related to awareness, education, and the promotion as well as protection of human rights.
