The OHRC participated in the foundation training course “Introduction to the Human Rights System” organized by the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions in cooperation with the National Diwan for Human Rights in the State of Kuwait, during the period 11 – 12 October 2021.
The Commission participation took the form of the presentation of two papers by Mr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al-Rashdi, director of the Monitoring and Notifications Department in the OHRC regarding “Treaty Bodies Committees: its composition and mechanisms”. During the training, the participants conducted a practical rehearsal covering the preparation of reports and submittal procedures to the mechanisms.
This participation is conducted in the context of the implementation of the Strategic/ Operational Network Strategic Plan to enhance and build member institutions’ capacities and empower the newly founded national institutions. This comes in light of the needs and challenges faced by such institutions, as well as according to the recommendations and action plan concluded by the High Level Regional Dialogue Conference held in Marrakesh in February 2020.
