Mr Abdulaziz bin Ali Al Saadi, Director of the Legal Affairs Department, presented a paper entitled “International Standards on Access to Justice for Persons with Disabilities”. The paper outlined the international standards enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the mechanisms for their implementation. It also examined an individual communication considered by the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, highlighting the principles arising from the case, the measures taken to address the alleged violation, and the mechanisms for providing redress.
