Honorable Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni, Chairman of the Oman Human Rights Commission, met with Ambassador John Richmond, responsible for controlling and combating human trafficking, at the US State Department at the Commission’s headquarters, as part of his visit to the Sultanate.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Commission welcomed the delegation and presented him with a summary of the Commission, its objectives, its mechanism of work, duties, its role in the field of awareness and education, its relationship with regional and international organizations related to human rights, and its efforts in the field of combating human trafficking.
For his part, the ambassador expressed his happiness at the visit of the Commission, and his appreciation for the efforts undertaken by him. He noted that he is looking forward for more cooperation and coordination, and exchange of experiences in the field of combating human trafficking and human rights issues.
