The Oman Human Rights Commission participated in the activities of the training program, the role of national institutions in monitoring human rights, receiving complaints and writing reports. The program was organized by the National Center for Human Rights in Jordan in partnership with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations, and the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, in the Jordanian capital Oman.
The four-days program discussed the basic principles of monitoring and documentation in the field of human rights, the role of national institutions in monitoring the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and the role of national institutions in monitoring the compatibility of national legislation with international human rights standards. The program represents the second stage of training cadres of organizations and bodies National human rights institutions to deal with complaints related to human rights violations. The Program aims to develop the skills of human rights workers to receive, manage and deal with complaints.
The Commission was represented in the training program by a working group composed of Ahmed bin Nasser Al-Rashdi, director of the Monitoring and Notifications Department, and Salwa bint Ahmed Al-Balushi, legal researcher at the Oman Human Rights Commission.
