The regional workshop on disseminating human rights a culture in the context of sustainable development in Marrakech
As part of the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG), an OHRC delegation participated in the two-day (February 4, 5, 2020) regional workshop on promoting the culture of human rights. The workshop was organized by the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions in cooperation with the National Council, in the Kingdom of Morocco. It discussed the international general framework of UNSDGs, promoting human rights culture and the role of national human rights institutions. Experiences, best practices and lessons learned were exchanged at the workshop, which also dealt with cooperation of partners with the Arab Network to implement the programs of member institutions at the regional level. The speakers highlighted the general challenges, needs, priorities, and the programs to be implemented by the national institutions. Arab national human rights institutions shared their experiences, identified the challenges they face, discussed possible solutions, and studied areas of cooperation with the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions.
