Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni OHRC Chairman met with H.E. Hanna Neumann, Chairperson of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with the Arabian Peninsula, and the accompanying delegation, who paid an official visit to the Sultanate, during which she met with a number of officials.
During the meeting, Sheikh OHRC Chairman gave a brief overview of OHRC, its mandates, the mechanism it follows in monitoring and receiving reports, its efforts in the field of human rights awareness and education, and its relationship with regional and international organizations concerned with human rights. For her part, H.E. Hanna Neumann Chairperson of the delegation expressed their happiness to visit the Sultanate and stressed the European side’s keenness to cooperate with OHRC in all matters related to serving human rights. She appreciated the efforts made by the Sultanate at the local and international levels in files related to human rights.
The meeting was attended by Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Rawahi, member of OHRC, the lawyer Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Shanfari, a member of OHRC, and Aida bint Shamis Al Hashemiyah, member of OHRC, in addition to a number of concerned employees at OHRC.
