A delegation from the OHRC visited the Central Prison Inmates Products Exhibition held at the Mall of Oman on the occasion of the United Gulf Inmate Week. This year the Exhibition came under the slogan “Let us open hope and work for them”.
During the visit, the delegation toured the corners of the Exhibition and looked at the products and works of the inmates, which included artistic paintings, various drawings, and clothes intended for children, in addition to handicrafts, silverware, and works of art.
The OHRC purchased a group of antiques and exhibits as part of the ongoing support for the rights of inmates in the Central Prison and various detention centers in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Omani Human Rights Commission stresses the importance of providing space for inmates in the Central Prison to showcase and sell their products and enhancing the services provided to them, which include health, educational, cultural, sports, and training aspects. This is in preparation for their integration into society after serving their sentence.
