Professor Rashid bin Hamad Al Balushi, Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission, met with Her Excellency Ambassador Stella Kloth, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Oman.
Her Excellency was briefed on the Commission’s work, its mandates, and operational mechanisms. The meeting also covered statistics on complaints and the developments following the issuance of the Royal Decree reorganizing the Commission. Awareness and educational programs carried out by the Commission were highlighted.
The parties discussed the implementation of the second phase of a human rights training project previously held for Commission employees and participants from civil society organizations in cooperation with the Embassy of the Netherlands. The meeting also touched on benefiting from the Netherlands’ experience in developing national human rights strategies.
The meeting was attended by the Second Secretary for Political Affairs Nasim Aba, and from the Commission, attended lawyer Mohammed bin Ali Al-Marzouqi, Head of International Cooperation, Dr. Jamal bin Eid Al-Khudoori, member of the Commission, and several other Commission employees.
