The Oman Human Rights Commission expresses its profound appreciation and high regard for the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to allocate an additional seat for Omani women in each governorate, amounting to a total of eleven (11) seats, to be added to the general seats available for competition in the Shura Council elections.
The Commission affirms that these Royal Directives embody His Majesty’s enlightened approach in continuing to empower Omani women and enhance their participation as key partners in the nation’s development journey, in a manner consistent with the political principles upheld by the Sultanate of Oman and its international commitments related to human rights.
The Commission also commends the Royal Directives issued by His Majesty to the relevant authorities to assess the current reality of children’s use of digital communication platforms and to develop the necessary regulations and mechanisms to govern such use. These measures aim to protect children from digital risks and assist families in guiding their children and ensuring the optimal use of these platforms, while drawing upon leading international experiences in this field.
The Commission further affirms that this noble initiative reflects His Majesty the Sultan’s unwavering commitment to providing a safe digital environment for children that serves their best interests, aligns with their capacities, develops their skills, and supports the upbringing of a knowledgeable and aware generation that takes pride in its homeland and is committed to safeguarding its achievements and accomplishments.
