The Oman Human Rights Commission, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, implemented a specialized medical sign language training course for a number of Ministry of Health employees during the period from 1 to 5 February 2026.
The course aimed to train (23) participants from the healthcare sector, qualify them in sign language, and enable them to communicate effectively with persons with hearing disabilities.
It is worth noting that this program comes as part of the Commission’s efforts to monitor the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities, and to encourage institutions and entities to exert greater efforts in overcoming challenges related to providing services to persons with disabilities in general.
