Omani Experience and China’s Human Rights Action Plan Take Center Stage in Bilateral Discussions at the Commission’s Headquarters

Professor Rashid bin Hamad Al Balushi, Chairperson of the Oman Human Rights Commission, received H.E. Quan Yuan, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman, and his accompanying delegation at the Commission’s headquarters.

The Visit by the Chinese delegation aimed to gain a closer understanding of Oman’s experience in the field of human rights and to learn about the key features of the draft National Human Rights Strategy, in addition to exchanging expertise and best practices in the field of human rights. For its part, the Chinese delegation presented, during the meeting, China’s National Human Rights Action Plan (2026–2030), outlining its key objectives and priorities. The two sides also discussed ways to advance human rights work and strengthen cooperation mechanisms between them.

The Meeting also addressed ways to develop bilateral relations and enhance joint cooperation, while highlighting the role played by the Oman Human Rights Commission in protecting and promoting human rights in the Sultanate of Oman. The Meeting further included an extensive discussion on Oman’s experience in consolidating human rights principles and translating them into reality on the ground.
