Muscat : 11th Sep 2019: Today morning, the Honorable Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni, Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC), met His Excellency Hamish Cowell, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Sultanate of Oman, at OHRC’s headquarter.
At the beginning of their meeting, OHRC Chairman welcomed the Ambassador and introduced to him in brief the Commission, its objectives, responsibilities and its role in human rights related areas as well as its relations with national and international human rights organizations.
On his part, His Excellency the Ambassador of the United Kingdom expressed his appreciation to the Oman Human Rights Commission and its efforts and activities in this field. He also commended the mutual coordination and cooperation between the British Human Rights Commission and its Omani counterpart and whatever supports the two countries in this field. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al Kalbani, Secretary General of the Commission, and a number of concerned employees from OHRC.
