A delegation of the Bar Association of the Czech Republic visits the Oman Human Rights Commission

A delegation of members of the Bar Association of the Czech Republic visited the Oman Human Rights Commission, as part of the delegation’s current visit to the Sultanate to learn about the Omani legal experience. During the visit, Honorable Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni, Chairman of the Oman Human Rights Commission gave a brief summary of the Commission, its work in various fields of human rights. He also explained its role in awareness and education, and its regional and international partnerships with bodies, organizations and commissions operating in human rights. Afterwards, a presentation was delivered to the delegation summarizing the progress of the Commission during the past ten years, and the development of the mechanisms for monitoring and receiving notifications that it adopts. The delegation also watched some documentaries produced by the Commission clarifying some of the means of raising awareness of the rights of residents in the Sultanate from the friendly and sister countries as well as the rights of children For his part, Dr. Vladimír Jirousek President of the Bar Association of the Czech Republic and his accompanying delegation, expressed their happiness to visit the Commission and to see its experience in the field of human rights. They praised the Commission’s experience in the field of awareness and education, and its role in serving all groups of society in the field of human rights.
