Social Media Conference in Doha
OHRC participated in an international conference on social media held under the theme “Challenges and Ways to Support Freedoms and Protect Activists,” The conference hosted by Qatar’s National Committee for Human Rights on February 16, 17, 2020, saw the participation of more than 300 international organizations and universities, think tank,  in addition to a strong and qualitative participation of journalists’ unions from around the world and representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, United Nations agencies, international organizations and social media networks and UN special rapporteurs. The National Committee for Human Rights organized the conference in coordination with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the European Parliament, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). The conference discussed more than forty (40) working papers and different axes through interactive discussion panels and four (4) working groups over two days.
