On November 5, 2020, OHRC chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni, led the OHRC delegation at the meeting of the executive heads of Arab national human rights institutions held by the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions via Zoom.
The meeting reviewed decisions of the Network’s Executive Committee, recommendations of the General Assembly, discussed the human implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, presented the most important actions implemented during the current year, and identified the main challenges facing Arab human rights institutions. The participants also presented the training manual prepared by the Network, approved the draft action plan for the coming year, and exchanged views and experiences on human rights issues.
The meeting also discussed completion of membership procedures of the Republic of Djibouti and the Republic of Comoros. The number of members in the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions now stands at 15.
OHRC, an active member of Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, participates in programs, activities and training courses organized by the network.
