Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) participated in the regional workshop organized by the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions in cooperation with the National Council for Human Rights in the Kingdom of Morocco on spreading a culture of human rights within the framework of the sustainable development goals.
The workshop discussed the international framework for sustainable development goals, spreading a culture of human rights, the role of national human rights institutions, experiences and best practices, and lessons learned. The workshop also dealt with the frameworks of partners’ cooperation with the Arab Network to implement the programs of member institutions at the regional level, the challenges and general needs according to priorities, and the programs to be implemented by the national institutions.
The workshop aimed at exchanging experiences in the field of Arab national human rights institutions in the field of spreading a culture of human rights, the challenges they face, means and possible solutions, experiences and capabilities, and studying areas of cooperation between Arab institutions and the International Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions.
OHRC was represented in this participation by a delegation headed by OHRC member Labiba bint Mohammed Al Ma’awali, Saeed bin Saleh Al Abri, Director of Public Relations and Media, Maryam bint Mohammed Al Balushi, Administrative Researcher, and Jokha bint Abdullah Al Maamari, an employee in the Chairman office of OHRC.
