The Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) held its first meeting for this year under the Chairmanship of the Honorable Sheikh/ Abdullah bin Shuwain Al Hosni, Chairman of the OHRC, and with the attendance of the Commission’ members; the meeting took place in the OHRC headquarter.
The meeting discussed the topic provided by the sub commissions, the annual Commission’ plan to be implemented this year, and the schedule for the field visits to the Oman Royal Police Detention Centers.
Also during the meeting, the program of awareness and educational lectures on the protection of the child from neglect and abuse, implemented by the Commission in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Omani Women’s Associations, was reviewed, in addition to a number of issues related to human rights topics in the Sultanate of Oman.
