Oman Human Right Commission Participates in the Introductory Seminar No. (25) on the Provisions of the Labor Law of Oman’s Women Working in the Private Sector
The OHRC participated in the introductory seminar on the provisions of the Labor Law of Oman’s Women working in the Private Sector organized by the Ministry of Labor at Crowne Plaza Muscat through a lecture given by Ms. Shatha bint Abdul Majeed al-Zadjali, director of the International Organizations and Relations under the title the National Mechanisms of Protecting Women Rights. The First Axis of the lecture discussed the legislative mechanism through which the Basic Statute of the State was covered and the contained articles related to protecting women’s rights as well as the national legislation and the included articles that protect women’s rights in addition to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. In the Second Axes, the lecture addressed the governmental mechanisms concerned with protecting women’s rights in addition to the role of civil society institutions in this respect. The lecture also addressed the axis of the OHRC including its establishment, competencies, and its work mechanism in monitoring and receiving complaints.
