The Oman Human Rights Commission “OHRC “ participated in the training workshops organized by the Ministry of Social Development in the first forum of persons with disabilities under the slogan (Incorporation and empowerment) at the Oman International Exhibition Center during the period 1-2 May with a working paper entitled “The role of OHRC in protecting and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities” presented by Mr. Walid bin Saeed Al-Badi, Head of the Communications Department at the Monitoring and Receiving Communications Department of the Commission .
The paper addressed the definition of the Commission and its origins and competencies and the efforts made to protect and promote the rights of persons with disabilities in cooperation with government institutions and civil society institutions, and through the process of monitoring and receiving communications as well as the various awareness and educational programs that are disseminated through the media and through the annual report of the Commission.
