A delegation from the OHRC participated in the activities of the Regional Dialogue Forum on the Future of Human Rights Education in the Arab Region, which was held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in cooperation and partnership between the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions “ANNHRIs”, the Arab Institute for Human Rights, the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt, the League of Arab States, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The forum aimed to discuss the future of education and ways to promote education on human rights and citizenship in educational curricula, in addition to presenting and exchanging experiences and expertise among the participating parties, in addition to following up the most important methodologies related to the development of education in the Arab world.
The Forum was organized within the framework of regional events on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Arab Charter on Human Rights.
The OHRC was represented by a delegation headed by Yasser bin Saeed Al-Dhahli, a member of the OHRC. It includes other members such as Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saadi, Director of the Legal Affairs Department, Khazina bint Muslim Al-Rahbiya, Director of the Office of Committee and Subcommittee Affairs, Maryam bint Mohammed Al-Balushiya, Director of the Quality Department, and Fahad bin Ahmed Ouled Thani, Head of the Human Resources Department of the OHRC.
