Professor Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Balushi, Chairman of the Omani Human Rights Commission, met with Dr. Alia Bint Hilal Al Sadiya, President of the Omani Sociologist Association. They discussed the aspects of strengthening the cooperation between the OHRC and the Association in various fields related to human rights. At the beginning of the meeting, the OHRC Chairman introduced the Commission’s work and terms of reference. He reviewed some of the OHRC’s efforts in the field of monitoring, receiving complaints, and raising awareness and education about human rights. He expressed that the OHRC is ready to cooperate with the Association in various fields related to human rights. For her part, the President of the Omani Sociologist Association introduced the work of the Association, the research and field studies it conducts, and the efforts it makes to utilize the scientific expertise of specialists in sociology and social work. The meeting was attended by Saud bin Saleh Al-Ma’awali, Vice Chairman of the OHRC, Dr. Yahya bin Mohamed Al-Hinai, a member of the Commission, Labiba bint Mohamed Al-Ma’awali, a member of the Commission, and several specialists from the Omani Human Rights Commission.
