Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Balushi, Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission, received Her Excellency Ambassador Cindy Dyer, the U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Combating Human Trafficking, and her accompanying delegation, at the Commission’s headquarters.
During the meeting, a visual presentation was given about the Commission’s responsibilities and roles, including its tasks in monitoring and receiving complaints, as well as its efforts in promoting awareness and education about human rights. The ongoing cooperation between Oman Human Rights Commission and the National Commission for Combating Human Trafficking was also discussed.
For her part, Ambassador Cindy Dyer reviewed several issues related to combating human trafficking and addressed the U.S. State Department’s Human Trafficking Report, highlighting key points from the report.
Present at the meeting from the U.S. side were Chelsea Kasar, a policy officer from the U.S. Department of State, and several officials from the U.S. Embassy in Oman. Representing the Commission were Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Saadi, member of the Commission, Abdulaziz bin Ali Al Saadi, Director of the Legal Affairs Department, and Shadha bint Abdulmajid Al Zadjaliyah, Director of the Department of Organizations and International Relations at Oman Human Rights Commission.
