UNICEF Oman Organizes Panel Discussion in Nizwa on World Children’s Day
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) organized a Panel Discussion for students in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Office of the Governor of Al-Dakhiliyah, with the participation of students representing schools from Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate, as well as representatives of students with disabilities.
 
The Discussion, held in celebration of World Children’s Day, was sponsored by Prof. Rashid bin Hamad Al-Balushi, Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission, and attended by Sheikh Saleh bin Dhiyab Al-Rubaie, Wali of Nizwa; Ali bin Abdullah Al-Harithi, Director General of Education in Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate; and Samaira Choudhry, UNICEF Representative in Oman. The event took place at the office of the Wali of Nizwa.
 
The Discussion focused on listening to the perspectives of participating students and addressing their questions. Discussions covered various topics, including rights related to education, health, the environment, and climate change. Additionally, participants were introduced to the Children’s Law and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, with a focus on specific articles. The session also explored how students can contribute to promoting child rights and education within their communities.
