Oman Human Rights Commission organizes a dialogue session for discussing the findings of the study “The Reality, Challenges, and Aspirations for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Sultanate of Oman”
Oman Human Rights Commission organized dialogue session via video call for discussing the findings of the study conducted by the Commission on the reality, challenges and aspirations for individuals with autism spectrum disorder in the Sultanate of Oman, prepared by Dr. Khalid bin Saif Al Muqrashi, a researcher specialized in autism spectrum disorder at the Ministry of Education and Mrs. Zahraa bint Hasan bin Abdulkhaliq Al Lawatiya, a researcher and author on the subject of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
 
During the Session, participants discussed the challenges faced by children with autism spectrum disorder in Oman and proposed innovative mechanisms to enhance educational, health, psychological, and social services for these children.
 
The discussion also focused on identifying existing programs for children with ASD, evaluating their effectiveness, and assessing their impact on improving the services provided. The goal was to develop comprehensive and practical recommendations that contribute to the enhancement and protection of children with autism spectrum disorder, as well as to increase national efforts in this area within the Sultanate of Oman.
 
The dialogue session was attended by several researchers and specialists from entities responsible for care and rehabilitation, as well as representatives from civil society organizations and parents.
