Oman Human Rights Commission Participates as an Observer in the 55th Session of the Arab Permanent Human Rights Committee in Kuwait
Oman Human Rights Commission participated with an official delegation headed by Professor Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Balushi, Chairman of the Commission, in the 55th session of the Arab Permanent Human Rights Committee, which was held in the State of Kuwait, in an observer capacity.
 
The session discussed several priority issues in the Arab world, including the ongoing serious violations in the occupied Palestinian territories and their humanitarian impact, strengthening cooperation among member states to implement the recommendations issued by the Arab Charter on Human Rights Committee, and addressing emerging human rights issues, particularly those related to technology and artificial intelligence and their impact on human rights. Additionally, discussions focused on supporting the most vulnerable groups in society, with a special emphasis on protecting the rights of families and children.
 
The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably the need to enhance joint Arab efforts to develop human rights policies, achieve regional solidarity in support of Arab causes at the international level, and promote dialogue and cooperation among member states to establish effective mechanisms for implementing relevant international agreements.
 
It was also agreed to launch a media campaign on the occasion of Arab Human Rights Day on March 16, 2025, under the slogan “The Right to Food for the Palestinian People.” Additionally, the session approved the guiding implementation plan for the Arab Human Rights Strategy.
 
The delegation of Oman Human Rights Commission included Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Saadi, a member of the Commission, and Mr. Salim bin Khalfan Al Roushdi, Head of the Media Department at Oman Human Rights Commission.
