Conclusion of the Workshop on Developing a Human Rights Indicators Guide
On Thursday, the workshop on developing the Human Rights Indicators Guide, under the patronage of His Excellency Isa bin Hamad Al-Azri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Judicial Council, concluded.
 
The workshop was organized by Oman Human Rights Commission with broad participation from its members, employees, and several partners from government entities, institutions, and civil society organizations, and it lasted for five days.
 
At the conclusion of the workshop, lawyer Saud bin Saleh Al-Maawali, Vice President of the Commission, delivered a speech in which he summarized the National Human Rights Strategy project, of which this workshop is one of the key components. The project aims to study the current situation, analyze, and produce a guide for human rights indicators.
 
Dr. Kawthar bint Thani Al-Khaifiya, Strategic Planning Expert at Oman Human Rights Commission, presented an analysis of the indicators discussed during the workshop by the various working groups focused on different rights. She also reviewed the outcomes achieved during the workshop in order to produce a comprehensive guide for human rights indicators.
 
It is worth mentioning that this workshop aims to produce a Human Rights Indicators Guide that will contribute to the development of the strategy. The guide will also assist all committees and teams in public institutions in the country to use international human rights indicators when preparing international reports and showcasing achievements in the field of human rights in the Sultanate.
