During the meeting, the role of Oman Human Rights Commission was reviewed, including its efforts in monitoring and receiving complaints, preparing parallel reports to governmental reports submitted to regional and international mechanisms, as well as its initiatives in raising awareness and educating about human rights.
For his part, Counselor Jaber Al-Marri explained that the visit aims to observe the developments in Oman’s human rights system at the legislative, institutional, policy, and practice levels.
He emphasized that the visit is part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Arab Charter Committee and the state parties to the Arab Charter on Human Rights, supporting endeavors to promote and protect human rights in line with international standards.
